Hi, I’m Shohei. I live in the Kanto region and fish around Tokyo Bay most weekends.
When friends from overseas asked me where they could go fishing in Japan, I realised most English information was either a short list of spots or a machine-translated page. Nobody explained the practical parts: which bus to catch, how to pay at the counter, what the rules on the sign actually say.
That’s why I started this site.
How I write these guides
This site has two kinds of pages, and each one says which it is at the top.
- Guides from my own trips — marked “Visited”. Directions, photos and tips come from places I fish myself, such as the Edogawa Floodway and Takasu Seaside Park.
- Researched pages — marked “Information checked”. These are based on official sites and booking pages, not my own visit. The Fishing Map, tour comparisons and most facility listings are this kind, and I never mark them as visited.
- Every page shows a date. Fees, hours and rules change, so I note when I visited or last checked the official information.
- I start from the station. Guides begin at a station, port or airport. If a place needs a car, I say so at the top.
- I don’t guess. If I couldn’t confirm something—like whether bait is sold or English is spoken—I say so rather than fill the gap.
